The most beautiful sock yarn in the whole world!!

Would you just look at this.... this has to be the most beautiful yarn I have ever seen!!! Really, I'm not joking.... this stuff is incredible!! It even smells good! :) I got this hand-dyed yarn from Super Duper Terri's etsy store, Sand In My Stitches.

I stole this photo from Terri's shop, her's was much better than mine.... I'll try to take one this weekend when I can get one in the daylight.

I'm trying to find a pattern worthy of this beautiful yarn... I found this one at Knitty, Clessidra, a bit challenging but I'm liking it..... I'll keep looking just in case I find one I like better, any suggestions you guys have would be welcome. :)

Aren't you jealous of me, no need to be, you can get your own wonderful yarn from Terri. Go chat with her, I'm sure she could hook you up with some of her awesome yarn!!

I have socks!!

I finally got those "Simple Socks" done!! WooHoo!! Now I need some cool weather so I can wear them!! :) I'm not a fanatic about having the patterns match up but while I love the feel of this yarn I think the patterns are a little wonky. I like the sock on my right foot much better....

Only you fellow sock knitters can appreciate how difficult it is to take photos of your own feet!

I am a Knitting Guru

While blog surfing, I came across this quiz on Kimberly's blog... thought I'd give it a whirl. It says that I'm a Knitting Guru - ha ha!
You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting and do it all the time. While finishing a piece is the plan, you still love the process, and can't imagine a day going by without giving some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation involves leaving ample space for the stash and supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn ends and you begin.
Take this quiz if you want to see what kind of knitter you are...

Finished one UFO

I've had a bit of ADD going on here lately.... I've been so excited about sending & receiving packages that I haven't been able to concentrate on one project for very long. Lets just say I did have about 20 UFOs going (I should be ashamed!), now I probably have 25!!! :-O

I suppose all of that sugar I've been loading up on here lately thanks to all of my swap buddies hasn't helped the skipping from one project to another situation any. I loved all of it though!!! I probably could have used a little restraint and not eaten it all so fast... I think I got the sweats from the sugar overload!! ha ha!

But........ I did complete one project!! I finally finished one of the dishcloths I am making for my kitchen, take a look.

Sand In My Stitches is open!

Everyone go over & check out Super Duper Terri's etsy shop!! She has lots of yummy yarn for sale!!

My silly Flamingo Prints...

I was thinking....hmm... maybe people would like to see those silly Flamingo prints that inspired my washcloths that the awesome Super Duper Terri created.... Ok, I live at the beach & I'm painting my bathroom aqua, white & cream. I have these art prints, really cute huh?? he he, they are so silly, I just love them!! I actually worked with the artist, Ortrud Tyler, when she had the prints made. I used to work for the printing company that printed them for her. I had to do the color work on the computer to make the prints match the originals as close as possible. Let me tell you, this was no easy task!! But Orturd was always a lot of fun & I will miss working with her!! She signed my prints for me, that was soooo sweet!! She also does fine art prints, check these out, she does silly as well as very beautiful work! If anyone reading this were to buy one of her prints, let her know that you found her through me, she would get a kick out of that!! :)

To start with check out the box I opened and all the sweet individually wrapped packages, wrapped with purple & green tissue paper....
Inside... A nice letter from Terri, not ONE, not TWO, but THREE of the most beautiful washcloths I have ever seen!!! One Pink (to match my silly Flamingo art prints I'm gonna frame & put in my bathroom), one Aqua (the color I'm painting my bathroom walls), & one Purple (my favorite color), THREE balls of Sugar & Cream cotton yarn in the same colors!! THREE, yes go ahead & count them, yummy soaps, Cherry Almond, Peach Passion, & Apples 'n Cinnamon. They all smell wonderful but I think I'm gonna use the Cherry Almond first, it is the yummiest! A package of Halloween gummy bears, how cool is that! I've never seen those before.... A package of Razzberry M&M's (oh my are these things good or what!!!), & a pack of Fruit Tarts Life-Savers..... A Yankee Candle Electric Smelly, Macintosh apple scent. And last but not least... An incredible skein of Penny Lane yarn, handspun & hand dyed organic wool & mohair!!!! The picture just doesn't do this yarn justice, & it is called "Aliens on the Run", that cracks me up too Teri!! What a hoot!!
Below is a close up of each cloth, I'm sooooo impressed!! And you know what, if Terri had not said anything I would have never even noticed that silly hole in the purple one!! That is the one that caused her all of the trouble. :)
Whew! What an AWESOME package!! All I can say now is Terri, YOU ROCK!! I am one happy girl!!!! You made this swap tons of fun for me & a lot of others who read my blog too, I think everyone was in suspense! :) Thanks sooooooooo much!!!! Let's hear it for Super Duper Terri!!!!!

Instructions on Row Counter Bracelet

For those who are puzzled by the row counter bracelet... here are the instruction that came with mine:

Each row counter bracelet comes with 2 different color beads to represent a count of 1 & the other a count of 10. For these instructions, a count of 1 will be bead "A" & a count of 10 will be bead "B". There is also a large focal bead at the end of the bracelet that holds both wires together, this will be called the "stable bead".

As you complete a row, slide a bead "A" through the elastic holder towards the "stable bead". When you complete 10 rows, move all "A" beads back through the elastic holder away from the "stable bead" & move a bead "B" towards the "stable bead" to represent a count of 10 rows.

As you continue knitting, the "A" beads will continue moving towards the "stable bead" until another count of 10 is reached & then another "B" bead will be moved through to the "stable bead". Using the row counter, you will be able to count up to 99 rows.
