A new day...

Well, it's been a hectic week here.... Jazzy & I missed WoW (Whiskers on Wednesday) this week, hopefully we will be back for that next week. It has been super busy at work, we have had one sweet girl out sick all week (poor thing), and we lost a good friend & previous co-worker last weekend in a horrible, unexpected accident... I've been filling in for sick girls & vacationing others & haven't been able to get my own work done. Which I don't mind at all, just makes it frustrating to have my own work piling up...

Anyway... while I live in a tourist area, and the tourist business keeps me employed, and it's great seeing the crowds rolling in for summer vacations.... sometimes it can get frustrating for the locals to get to & from work, lunch, errands, daily life, etc. through all the traffic. (I think more than anything I'm just jealous of all the vacationers, I wish I were in their place.) But today while sitting at a stoplight in traffic, there was a family in a SUV with their windows rolled down (I cracked mine so I could listen), it appeared to be a couple around their mid 40's with a couple younger teenagers in the back... bathing suits still on, chairs & beach stuff piled in the back, they had Lenny Kravitz "Fly Away" cranking out of the stereo, and they were all singing along... it made me smile. That seems so simple, a smile, just because a family was singing in their car.... but it warmed my heart. I continued on my way home with a feeling of peace that I haven't felt all week.....

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and finds a little bit of joy and peace along the way.... Tomorrow is a new day....

Thank you for sharing that story. I'm glad you appreciate the things in life like that. I'll keep good thoughts for all those in your life that are going through hard times, but you're so nice to pick up the slack and not be grumpy about it.
