Tropical Storm Hanna

Tropical Storm Hanna came ashore right on our little town of Calabash, NC. It was a lot of rain & a lot of wind, but we didn't get any damage. Unless you count the soreness I'm gonna get in my muscles from raking all the pine needles, pine cones & little branches from the yard!

She came ashore about midnight, and I have to admit that I slept through most of it. There was some heavy rain before I went to bed, and I woke up a couple of times in the night hearing the wind whip around the house. We were lucky and never even lost power. I know that there were quite a few that did. Even though there was a lot of water in the yard when I went to bed last night we've been so dry here that it was all soaked up by the time we got out and about this morning. So now it's just a matter of cleaning up the yard. We are very thankful that is all we have to do.

I just wanted to let everyone know that we were all okay here & no damage. Thank you to everyone who sent messages of well wishes & worry for me & mine. I hope that everyone else in the path of Hanna fares as well as we did.

Now to struggle with putting the knitting down & finding that rake!

That is great news. Hannah is working her way up to us. It rained all night but not hard. We are having the hard rain now which has been going on for over two hours. The only thing I need to worry about, which is a minor worry, is losing power. The boys are in and sleeping. I'm working on BSJ #2 which I hope goes faster than #1.

I'm glad everyone is okay! :-) I haven't heard from the BIL yet. I'm about to call him and make sure he weathered it okay.

Glad Hannah didn't cause you any trouble. She's here with us now in Massachusetts, but its just rain ... and more rain, but its pretty steady and quiet.

Glad you're fine. We don't have anything to even rake up, thankfully. Sissy's out on property patrol though, so perhaps her morning report will differ...
