Thought I'd try a little contest of my own...

Ok knitters & crocheters..... I took a small round store bought retractable tape measure & crocheted a cover for it. What do you think? (Only nice comments please, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything... he he)

This one is purple, but I have yarn to make them out of Blue/Green; Purples; Pinks; Pale Blue/Tan; Browns; Red/Green & Greens/Brown.

I was thinking of selling these on my Etsy store but I'm not sure if I want to put the time in yet, we'll see.

Here's the contest..... everyone who leaves a nice comment on this post before Nov. 15, 2007, will get their name put into a hat/bag/bowl or something, then I'll get my kitty Jasmine or maybe my hubbie to draw one out. I'll send you 2 tape measures! One for you & one to share with a friend (or 2 for you!). If you don't like them or don't want one please don't leave a comment.

Make sure you when you leave your comment I can get to your blog or somehow notify you if you win. I'll contact the winner Nov. 16th and find out your address & what colors you would like. :)

I think that's a great idea, and I bet they would sell, too. Tape measures are a great gift, because lets be real - I can't be the only one who loses my tape measures constantly! Very cute!

What a great idea! I love it. Tape measures are a great gift, and I could always use more.

It really is lovely!

The cover looks great. I think they are worth your effort to make several and see how they sell. I know that I have received something similar in a swap before and they make awesome additions to swap packages!!

I think it's a great idea! I think the sample turned out very pretty. And I'm with Anne...I always need more tape measures. Mine seem to sprout legs and conveniently escape to the toy box. *sigh*

BTW, definitely give the ballband a try! I was surprised at how easy it was. :-)

First time visiting your blog. Very nice. Your work is great. I still cannot wrap my brain around the row counter bracelet! As for your tape measure....where did you come up with that idea? It is awesome. I am sure there are tons of people who would buy one.

Anita! These are sooo cool! Thank you so much!

Everyone, I am the proud owner of one of these and I've gotta tell ya... this is the neatest original idea I've seen in awhile in the notions/accessory line! They are so well-made that I don't know how she did it, actually... heh!

This one is going in my little accessory case that I use for all my knitting/crocheting. :)

I definitely think you should try to sell them in your etsy shop!

I don't know about the rest of ya but I would prefer that 2 of us won than to get 2 if I win...what do you ladies think???

Sure! Two people winning is always more fun! :-)

I think they're adorable! I think my cat would go absolutely nuts if he saw me measuring cloth with them. And I agree, two people winning makes it way more fun for everyone. Side note, I think your post on our fires is great- a wonderful idea. Thank you for that.
